Central Control & Process Improvement Engineer

Summary
Support all Plants with automation control deficiencies to minimise downtime. Ensure any changes are fully tested, communicated and documented.
Deliver process or Improvements changes defined by IP to enhance plant efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Help develop engineering designs through Process improvement changes, Create written reports for technical specifications on any Improvement project to maximise standardisation so that best practices and knowledge is shared effectively within the group.
- Support all control issues if necessary with either plant or remote connection to minimise prolonged downtime. Actively promote the CI culture within all plants and act as the liaison between the Project team ensuring equipment (new or modified) is handed over to the plant on time and safely.
- Ensure all documentation is maintained as current and transferred to the KI Extranet drawing system and agreed.
- Multiple Control and Process improvements to be managed at the same time with limited resource.
- Achieving the agreed completion dates while adhering to compliant standards in health and safety.
- Dealing with constraints on deployment of tasks to individuals who have varying skill sets, backgrounds, experience and attitudes.
Requirements
- An experienced engineer with a degree or equivalent knowledge through experience. Ability to drive project and process improvements by IP management. Must have a strong technical understanding of PLC’s, Drives, Networks & Mechanics
- Understand and have a Siemens experience
- Highly tuned people management skills along with strong communication skills
- Experienced in the application of Health & Safety procedures with an understanding of the principles of Employment and Safety at Work Legislation & PUWER Regulations.
- Demonstrable achievements in Continuous Improvement, Change Management disciplines, tools and techniques and evident motivation to impart these to others.
- Use of a leadership style that creates confidence and commitment across a range of work groups rather than simply with own department.
- IOSH Safety Qualification or ideally NEBOSH certificate
- Flexible in terms of travel,break & finish times to suit the needs of the business.
- Data driven & Result focused. Strives to make the change
- Languages: Fluent in English.
