The Sustainability Data Engineer collects data (such as energy efficiency performance, carbon emissions, health, safety and environment statistics) from the various manufacturing facilities and performs statistical analysis of sustainability indicators to assist in assessing their effectiveness and progress toward Knauf Insulations sustainability objectives. They will support in studying new and proposed sustainable programs, projecting energy savings and overall program feasibility. The role will involve the development of methodologies used and documenting the steps taken throughout the data collection and analysis process.

This will involve maintaining an overview of all manufacturing facility sustainability performance metrics, analysing this data to assess progress towards sustainability objectives and to create a dashboard to facilitate succinct communication of performance on a monthly basis.

The Industrial Sustainability Team, part of the Industrial Performance Team leads the delivery of Knauf Insulation’s sustainability: strategy, objectives and projects.

Responsibilities

• Performs statistical analysis, modelling and visualisation of Knauf Insulations sustainability indicators.
• Researches, collects and analyses data from the manufacturing facilities, this may involve engaging Plant Sustainability Engineers to assist with the data collection process.
• Creation and maintaining a Sustainability Dashboard to facilitate succinct communication of sustainability performance.
• Writing reports and creating presentations describing findings, recommendations, and overall performance.
• Identifies areas for improvement, develops recommendations for follow-up action and researches potential resources.
• Develops data collection methodologies and reporting processes.
• Provides advice to the wider sustainability team and Plant Sustainability Engineers regarding data analysis and techniques.

Requirements

• Languages: Fluent in English, other languages will be considered an advantage.
• Some experience working with Sustainability software packages and data management platforms.
• General understanding of Sustainability and HSE topics, data types and measurement, including emissions, energy, water use, waste management, accident frequency rates, etc.
• Proficient with presentation/data visualization skills (PowerPoint, Tableau, etc).
• Data management experience, using a variety of tools for data management.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and mastery of advanced Excel.
• Autonomous and proactive – ownership attitude.
• Excellent analytical skills with superior attention to detail, organized and motivated.
• Effective and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
