Meet Mihael
Meet Mihael Međeral, who has been part of our team since 2019, first as a student, and since October last year, he has become an employee of Knauf Insulation. An exceptionally good team, professionalism, and friendliness, says Mihael, are the greatest advantages of Knauf Insulation.
Do you remember your first day at Knauf Insulation? What was it like?
I started working at Knauf Insulation as a student in July 2019. So I worked every year for three months during the summer, and since October last year, I became an employee of Knauf Insulation. From then until July this year, I worked on the production line, after which I moved to electrical maintenance. Throughout my work at Knauf Insulation so far, I have gone through almost all parts of the line, from pipes, milling to the main line. Throughout this entire process, I can say that I did not encounter any major challenges, which speaks volumes about the organization of the company and our managers.
Knauf Insulation is known as a company with many benefits. Which benefits would you highlight the most?
Given that I regularly go to the gym, I would definitely highlight the Multisport card as the biggest benefit. In addition, there are regular health check-ups, as well as team building where we always have a good time and socialize with employees from other departments.
Can you tell us a little more about your department - what is the working atmosphere like, how do you cooperate with colleagues within the department, do you have any common rituals, etc.?
Since I joined maintenance department , I have encountered only professionalism and friendliness. My colleagues immediately accepted me and introduced me to the job, and the first thing I noticed was how much I could learn from them. Now, after being here for some time, I can say that we have an exceptionally good team. Every day at 12 o'clock we organize a short coffee break - it has become our little ritual, and sometimes we socialize outside of working hours.
Do you cooperate with other departments? Do you share experiences and knowledge with colleagues from other departments?
Due to the nature of our work, we most often cooperate with mechanics, who occasionally make jokes at our expense, but these are mostly internal jokes and shared humor. This only further confirms the quality of our cooperation. We can very easily rely on each other because everyone knows what they need to do at any given moment.
Is there any skill or part of the job you would like to further develop?
I would like to learn more about programming itself and the line process. I am currently still in the learning process, but in the long run, I plan to deepen my knowledge of the entire production process, especially line programming.
What advice would you give to students or new colleagues who have recently joined Knauf Insulation?
I think it is most important to be open-minded and willing to work. For all those who are interested in production and maintenance, I think this job is a place where they will learn a lot - from the basics of work, industrial processes, new methods, to understanding the functioning of large companies like Knauf Insulation.
